In Darkness came Light

It was my epiphany, when breathing became easy

And air filled what was once suffocated.

It was my epiphany, the calm after the storm

And the water that quenched my thirst.

It was my epiphany, when “I” was better than “We”

And one wasn’t the loneliest number.

It was my epiphany,

Shackles undone,

Wrist’s draped free.

It was my epiphany;

After you closed the door,

After you left me.
